The beer pours very little head but what shows up is a good coffee brown color. The beer itself is a nice and good looking cocoa black color with a bit of a slick looking texture seen in wine.
The smell is good. It has a fairly strong and sweet cocoa chocolate note supplemented with a dark and bitter roasted coffee note underneath it all following it fairly quickly. There also seems to be a wooden oak note surrounding the other ones. It's rare but sometimes an alcohol note comes out fairly strongly in the nose.
The taste is pretty good. It starts off with the coffee note coming out front while the sweeter cocoa is soft compared to the smell and the coffee. There is a hint of red wine and oak in the finish but not much.
The feel is good. It has a heavy body with a soft and slick texture to it. The carbonation is nonexistent though.
Overall, a good and interesting beer worth having at least once.
