Appearance: silky smooth when poured; velvety. Dark brown, like a darker Coke. No head whatsoever immediately after being poured. The beer appears still.

Aroma: wonderful. Inviting. The coffee is showcased very well. The oak comes through, but remains in the background, which contributes vanilla.

Flavor: the coffee is so well captured. Toward the finish, the beer threatens to become too sweet, but then sweetens no further. Then comes the vanilla from the oak. All the flavors taste so natural.

Mouthfeel: heav(ier)-medium. A nice weight for the style and abv.

Overall: very nice. Sweet but within reason. Great flavor and balance. This beer rivals Parish’s Reve Stout. I’d to try this in a coconut variant. Aslin’s stouts are superior to their IPAs.

Poured a brown body with minimal head and no lace. Aroma is roasted malts with a mild lactic/sugary sweet smell. Beer is sticky, heavy-bodied, a great lactic sweetness pervades and is dominant flavor on finish (sweetness is mix of vanilla and bitter chocolate). Beer is balanced with a bit of roasted malt heft. Nothing stands out but it's an enjoyable and easy to drink beer.

16oz can poured onto snifter

Pour is a very dark brown with a topping of tan foam that only appeared after the beer had settled a bit, and was gone a few short moments later. Not much on the nose here. Muted coffee and a touch of lingering flatulence as a result of the grilled onions on my steak sandwich today. With my first sip, I can’t even concentrate on the taste because the mouthfeel was so surprisingly creamy that it caught me off guard. The taste is like a sweet cream coffee with a chocolate drizzle. No heat or real bitterness from the coffee. Very smooth and tasty brew.
