The perfection of dark chocolate and peanut butter gets a spicy upgrade! The next iteration of the Next Beer Due series is an imperial stout w/ cocoa nibs, peanut butter, chipotle, & sea salt. We changed our base stout recipe to add slightly more roast and doubled the amount of cocoa nibs to mimic our favorite dark chocolate bar. Then we conditioned the beer on smoke-tingled chipotle peppers, sea salt, and added a ton of peanut butter to balance the roast, spice, & smoke.

16oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that has short retention
S- tons of roasted peanuts on the nose, quickly followed by a slightly smoky chili pepper that burns the nose slightly. Plenty of dark chocolate and roast matches up with the peanuts. Undertones of caramel & vanilla. This basically smells like a liquid peanut butter cup
T- sweet and malty up front with a huge dose of dark chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Mid-palate brings out plenty of roasted peanut flavor, along with charred malt & vanilla cream. The finish starts to bring out just a hint of heat from the pepper, as well as adding a chipotle undertone. The linger brings out more heat and lingers of peanuts and chocolate, with a hint of saltiness sticking around
M- thick and viscous body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into a velvety warming finish
O- big, bold and sweet. The chocolate and peanut butter takes center stage, with the pepper heat kicking in on the finish

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a one pint can on April 27, 2019. An imperial stout brewed with cocoa nibs, peanut butter, chipotle and sea salt. Conditioned on smoke-tingled chipotle peppers, sea salt and peanut butter. Very good.
