Can Date: two months ago
Palate Contaminants: none
The color is a orange-brown, and pretty opaque. Kinda like marmalade. Not much head, but it is fine.
The smell hit me right when I opened the can. Lots of malt, with good competing amounts of lemon and pine sap.
Definite malt bomb. But it has quite a bit of acidity, too. (It might be the most acidic ale I've ever run across.) A nice lemongrass in there, as well. While the malt is strong, it's still somewhat mellow, with some of the flavor tilting toward vanilla extract. Still, it takes up so much bandwidth and just doesn't allow many other flavors through.
Carbonation is fine, but prickly. Sweet malt aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden.
