The beer pours very little brown head even with a hard pour. The beer itself is a delicious looking dark chocolate brown that borders on black. It has a nice milk chocolate texture it and seems to have a bit of heft too.
The smell is absolutely delicious. It has a nice German chocolate cake note with a chocolate cocoa note mixed with the vanilla and pecan note. The bourbon comes out around the edges while the toasted coconut comes out more in the finish.
The taste is absofriggingly deliciously indulgent! The sweet chocolate cocoa note still comes out front alongside the vanilla notes. The bourbon is also a bit stronger than in the smell and mixes the notes rather than being at the edges. The toasted coconut comes out in the middle while the pecans and a slight alcohol burn come in at the end and last past the finish.
The texture is pretty good. It's a heavy bodied beer that has a light carbonation. It has a fairly syrupy texture mixed in with a heft from the bourbon.
Overall, this was a fairly indulgent beer and absolutely worth the trade. I highly recommend looking for this and trading when you can.
