This is from the old Aslin in Herndon before they closed. Gotta be 5-6 years old but it’s delicious. Strong but lots of blueberry character in aroma. More maple and roasted malts in flavor. Thankfully coconut is subdued. Rich and robust!

Poured from the can into a teku glass.
Coming out oily and almost thick, hits with a nice solid mocha to tan head that fizzes slowly but surely out. Not even a collar on a wine like body of deep walnut brown, faint rising bubbles, and a big chocolate like look.
Another Aslin stout gangbusters aroma. Big giant amounts of biscotti and cake vanilla and coffee flavors. Deep nutty almond and espresso roast, touches soft milky tones , and a bare hint of fruited blueberry which goes great with the coffee angle. Just stellar stuff.
Palate hits like a fine liqueur. Giant silky mouthfeel with touches of spicy fruited brandy warmth. Lots of deep choclate and spicy cocoa qualities in the mid palate. Giant notes of crisp coffee tones and a wondeful fruity touch. Chewy hits of almond and nutty nougat sticky flavors that just coat your teeth. Port like fruit hits in the finish, and flavors that just hit like a gorgeous powerhouse.
My only complaint, is that it's just a hair too sweet for my tastes. But this is another winner in the stouts for these guys.

The beer pours a vigorous brown and foamy head that dissipates to nothing fairly quickly. The beer itself is a dark chocolate brown that is essentially a black with slight brownish hues. It looks good but nothing new or odd.
The smell is absolutely delicious and indulgent. The strongest and most noticeable smell is a sweet and sharp blueberry that goes straight to the nose. The notes that then come out is a brusque and bitter chocolate with a sight hint of roasted malt note alongside a maple that contrasts well with the other notes. The toasted coconut comes out in the finish but is overwhelmed most of the time.
The taste is good with the same notes. The blueberry is a bit more subdued in the beginning but really shines when it comes close to the finish. The maple syrup is the strongest note in the taste with a slight hint of the sweet almond coming out. The chocolate comes out in the finish.
The feel is good. It has a heavy body and a fairly carbonated such that it leaves with a dryness.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer and one of the ones with a good variety of different notes that work well together.

Interlopers pours a very thick and rich dark brown that turns motor oil black in the glass. The head was a very inviting, dark tan that lingered before completely dissipating leaving no lacing. The smell...Wow! This is big and very complex, as the blueberry comes to the forefront with a a bit of booze but subsides giving way to a sweet vanilla and maple with a nice rich, toasted coconut. Now, this is a meal! It's big, there is no way around it. Blueberry up front which fades opening up the toasted coconut with hint of maple. As it warms, you welcome in a nice smooth chocolate flavor with the nuttiness of the almonds.
