Aged in apple brandy & bourbon barrels for 12 months. We then conditioned it on Vietnamese coffee, Vietnamese cocoa nibs, cinnamon, & toasted almonds. This iteration presents notes of candied almonds, caramelized cinnamon apples, milk chocolate, & caramel with an awesome backbone of apple brandy and bourbon.

Bottle dated April, 2019, drank March, 2021.
Look - thin and semi translucent, no real head to speak of but a tiny bit of head swirled around just to make the limited amount of carbonation.
Smell - good bit of roast / stout but not much more
Taste - smooth but rather uninteresting. No hint of cinnamon and I’d be hard pressed to say I tasted much coffee if any at all. The almonds were probably gone too, but may have contributed to the smoothness. Couldn’t taste any barrel, ABV or anything related to bourbon, apple brandy or 18% anywhere - this was a negative IMO.
Feel - thin.
Overall - despite this lousy review, I enjoyed drinking this, it just was a bit of a let down given the expectations based of the previous ratings both on BA and elsewhere. Either that and / or this didn’t age well - but two years is hardly anything for a stout...even a pastry, and I’ve tasted cinnamon coming through after two years on others FWIW. Cheers!
