Pours black with half a finger of khaki foam. Foam retains decently well. Aroma is a mix of bourbon booze and chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and roasty and toasty malts. Taking a whiff is quite strange, as it's a quick and abrupt hit of bourbon booze, akin to opening up a bottle of booze, and immediate sugary, stout notes. Imagine spilling a few ounces of bourbon and half a bottle of Bourbon County Brand Stout on the (clean) floor and taking a smell. Flavor profile is a little more smooth, hitting notes of caramel, molasses, soft toffee, and candied sugar with roasty and toasty malts to compliment. Bourbon is big throughout, coming on strong at the start, fading to obscurity in the middle, then popping back to the forefront at the end. Booze leaks through at every level. Mouth feel is smooth and lightly creamy with a medium-thick consistency. Overall, big time booze in every step, but some quality stout beer notes along the way.

Another in my collection of 500ML bottles – only one left. Nice Atari graphics.
Black. The nose is sharp rye, vanilla, & smoothness. If one can smell such things.
Fenwick is my dozenth Aslin brew & easily the best (the worship still confounds me). The first impression is that it’s very smooth & very creamy, like a milk stout. Taste-wise it’s barrels up. Spicy rye, long, slow bourbon & a char that borders on smoke on top of chocolate vanilla & a sweet, deep malt backbone (Mr. Brick would be horrified by my current use of commas). 500ML is not enough. Please notify the brewery.
Masterful use of barrels over a stout that appears to be quite lovely. Overall an excellent brew.

This beer pours like black syrup, Very thick and virtually no head or carbonation anywhere in sight. The smell had a bold sweetness to it similar to something like ice cream mixed with a lot of barrel notes. The taste is sweet with vanilla and chocolate, other creamy flavors kind of pop in as well. The feel is rich and thick, silk smooth and oily. Overall it's a massive stout with a lot of things going on.

The beer pours a nice brown and bubbly head that dissipates fairly quickly while the beer itself is a delicious looking dark chocolate brown with a liquid texture to it that resembles the heavy look of bourbon.
The smell is fairly strong with rye and bourbon notes; the rye being the strongest of the two with a bit of a bourbon that pokes out. The alcohol note is fairly strong but is sharp and blends well with the other notes. The beer notes come out more in the finish. The vanilla beans come out first followed a sweet milk chocolate to it.
The taste is good and strongly resembles the smell. The main difference is that the rye dominates the taste and the vanilla follows in the finish but the two notes blend well together.
The feel is good. It has a thin but heavy body with a slight fire in the finish.
Overall, it's a pretty good beer that is well worth drinking even if it is a little too more like liquor than beer.
