The beer pours almost no head but a little starts to form after a slight hard pour to it. The tiny bits of head that does surface is a beige brown color that looks nice. The beer itself is a deep dark chocolate black with a thick and syrup looking texture to it that betrays a heavy body.
The smell is great. The nice are nice and subtle but flow with and into each very well. The smell starts off with a sweet mix of honey graham crackers and marshmallows with a light bourbon note to it. The honey smell flows through from beginning to end; mixing with the marshmallows and the lightly bitter cocoa notes at the finish. The vanilla is bittersweet and sticks out but sometimes gets lost in the honey.
The taste is great as well. The taste starts with the bourbon upfront with vanilla notes and a bit of booze to it. The taste then moves to the honey graham crackers and cocoa notes. Interestingly enough, the marshmallow seems to disappear underneath all of them. The bourbon is a bit spicey, which is nice.
The feel is pretty good. It has a smooth and velvety feel to it icing. The carbonation is fairly tingly.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer and one worth trading for if you can.
