Pours a very dark brown that looks black without being held against a light. Head is a half finger of khaki fizz. Aroma is rich toffee, molasses, dark fruits, plum, raisins, fig, and chocolate. There is a pinch bourbon behind for a little heat and balance for the initial sweetness, but it's faint. For the most part, lots of sweet, sugary notes. Flavor profile is raisins, plums, molasses, toffee, chocolate, vanilla, and figs. It's rich, without being cloyingly sweet. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a still effervescence that makes it feel a little thinner. Overall, big time sweet notes throughout with a little alcohol burn to curtail it.
