500 mL bottle from April 2020, poured into a tulip glass and allowed to warm.
L: Very little head, no retention, no lacing, just a thin tan ring. Beer is very dark brown.
S: Coconut, cinnamon, and coffee are the most predominant up-front, with nutty subtleties.
T: And holy hell, from a very good nose comes amazing taste. Coconut, cinnamon, coffee, roasted malts with a roasty and nutty character. As if that isn't enough the apple-brandy (presumably Laird's) and barrel come in on the back end with a woody apple and slight brandy heat character, but well-controlled.
F: Full-bodied, feels like there is some carbonation. Construction of this complex taste profile off the charts, seems as balanced as it can be and released without needing more aging. High ABV decently disguised, obviously gets boozy if you're planning on downing the whole bottle, but that's life in the big city.
O: Wow I wish I had bought more than one. This is a great accomplishment and I'd stand it up against any brewery.
