6 oz mini-snifter pour at Lures Bar & Grille. Pours pitch black with a small mocha head. Aroma and flavor feature rich dark roasty malts, bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bourbon, oak, caramel (but not too sweet), cinnamon (again, not too much) and a definite hint of chili pepper/spice. Mouthfeel is rich and viscous and hides the 13% abv impressively well, though you can tell it's a big beer. Overall this is a very successful BA pastry stout and is easy to drink.

I need to stop hoping for those big things in life, ya know? Like when I got my hands on the Spice Girls movie at 13, what a letdown. Now don’t get me wrong, Nowra isn’t that bad. But I just wanted a Lebowski strike on this one - yet it’s just ok.
Peace.

No bottling date (maybe 2-3 months ago?)

It looks thick with little carb. Smell is chocolate and bourbon and sweetness. On the tongue there’s mostly chocolate followed by vanilla and bourbon. The cinnamon, netmeg and peppers are very subtle which is good in my mind. I big winner at the bottle share and worth seeking out. It’s sweeter as many Aslin stouts are, but the bourbon helps balance things.
