From the small can, it pours a clear light golden body with a modest, soon diminishing, white head that does leave a little lacing. The nose gets some light malt with honey notes, although a friend thought it smelled of old socks. The taste is a smooth malty flavor with honey notes.

Aslin Beer Co. "Festbier"
12 fl. oz. can coded "2414114.08". Sampled on 6 February 2025
$2.99 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a clear deep golden body beneath a finger's width of white foam. Good so far. In the nose it's sweetish, bready, and floral. On to the taste... it's surprisingly got some caramelish character to it, and a bit of toastiness as well. The floral hops remain but it's also lightly herbal and spicy, and even a touch lemony. A median bitterness balances it beautifully and it finishes mainly dry with a drop of malt lingering amidst herbal and spicy hops. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp as might be expected. It's unusual, kind of like a cross between a Vienna lager and a Wiesnbier. Quite enjoyable.

Very good Festbier. Strong malty flavor. Eminently "poundable". Poured from a12 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a clear golden color and a small bubbly white head with little to no lacing. The flavor features strong bready maltiness with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is crisp and medium bodied. The robust flavor carries over to the "feel". This is not a blah lager. If the point of a festbier is to increase drinkability, this one succeeds. Well done.

Lightly hazy golden body with a modest head. Nose and taste both have a honey bread impression with the taste adding a little candied orange zest. The malt notes are pretty nice, but the bitterness to balance it is a little weak and shows up later than I’d like. Overall, a fine enough take for my tastes.

16 ounce can poured into a dimpled mug.
L: Slightly cloudy, rich gold, white fizzy foam stacks up to a full inch but fades to nothing in a minute or so.
S: A touch of bread and honey giving way to light perfume/floral hops, some mineral.
T: Hop forward with a big malt backbone, floral with some sweet fruity esters I think, there is a moderate sweetness with pronounced alcohol flavor.
F: Medium weight smooth body, moderately carbonated.
O: Not sure what to think here, it’s in the neighborhood of boozy at 5.5%, overly sweet and not easily drinkable, seems to miss the mark for a Festbier.

16 oz can poured into a tulip pint glass. Pours a clear pale golden color. Large fluffy head, decent retention, very little lacing. Aroma and flavor feature clean dry biscuity malt with noble hops. Some alcohol is noticeable, somewhat surprising given the 5.5% abv. Mouthfeel is a little thin and again slightly boozy. Overall it's close to being excellent but falls short on a couple of components.
