Green Starfish - from Aslin. 16 fl oz can purchased from Franklin Beer Co, Franklin, PA, 01/07/24, $ 4.00 (Including tax), $ 0.250/fl oz. Reviewed 10/07/24 (Review 3314). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom rim of can stamped “23306E1223”. Stored in reefer at the distributor, 34 degrees at home. Served at 41.9 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 55.0 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale straw (SRM 2), slight haze. Second pour same color but opaque – looks like an infected urine specimen.
Body – Pale Straw (SRM 2), slight haze. Under direct light, same with distinct greenish tint. When rear-lite, translucent.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.8 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density with a rocky top, leaving an undulating 0.3 – 0.7cm crown and a thin, complete cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3.5 – Woody hops. No yeast, no malt, no alcohol (5.7 % ABV, according to the can).
Flavor – 3.5 – Follows the nose. No yeast, no malt, no alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. No gastric warming.
Palate – 3 – Medium; watery; lively carbonation.
Final Impression and summation: 3.5 Another NEIPA.
