We introduced the batch to Bourbon Barrels for 14 months, after which it was transferred into Cognac Barrels & double barrel-aged for another 12 months. The result is a cascade of sweet, dark fruit melded with soft vanilla, earthen oak, raisins, caramel, and flashes of milk chocolate.

It looks more black than brown to me, even in better lighting, tan head. Smells strongly of raisin, molasses, bourbon, toasted caramel, cocoa, leather, dark wood, cognac, and barley in that order of strength melded together. Taste: big wood, raisin, and molasses, bourbon, cognac, and caramel next wave, finish by more general booze, tobacco, baker's chocolate, barley and a kiss of oxidized sugar, not as smooth as the nose though but equally complex. While the smell and taste are complex, the feel is not, as booze stronger than rest of barrel, barley eaten up by heavy maltwork, and no real bitting or rustic notes to come out, leaving you with a very boozy, smooth, heavy, and chewy body. Some high heights on this one

2020 bottle poured at fridge temp. Pours a gorgeous dark brown - almost black. Very thin layer of head. The nose is super intense and boozy. Huge notes of toffee, brandy, dark malts, bread, bourbon, vanilla, raisins. Really nice.
The taste is insanely good. Huge notes of bourbon and cognac. Toffee, black licorice, raisins, prunes, a bit of nuttiness, brown sugar, maple, vanilla, a slight smoky tobacco note, and a strong malty backbone. This is crazy intense.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and boozy. Long aftertaste. Warming. Very enjoyable!
