Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very muddy/murky with almost zero head. The nose is really nice. Tons of caramel and vanilla. Light coffee, bourbon, and more caramel. Dang - quite the caramel bomb on the nose.

The taste is really nice. The coffee really comes through here. The caramel is there, but it's not the only thing going on. Vanilla, slight coconut, milk chocolate, malts, cream, light bourbon, and a slight oak note. I'm really loving this one. It's super smooth and not very sweet. Rarely do I taste this nice level of integration. The flavors combine to form a really nice smooth taste.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a wonderful caramel and vanilla aftertaste. Great wheat wine overall.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 12/30/22.

Pours a medium brown, semi opaque, with no head and a little soapy cling. Aromas of caramel, vanilla, coffee, some bourbon, light chocolate. Flavors of coffee, vanilla, bourbon, caramel, malt, some chocolate. Tastes a little spicy as it warms. Smooth, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated.

Really well executed. The coffee and vanilla are bursting with flavor, the barrels shine when it warms, and there’s a solid base. Everything is nicely balanced, too. Very enjoyable.

500ml bottle from Tavour. Brown pour, ring of beige head. Sweet aroma, malty, bourbon, coffee and vanilla. Taste stays the course with the same character as the nose, but bringing a nice healthy warmth also.

Wheatwine style ales are pretty uncommon in the grand scheme of the market. Adjunct versions are even rarer. Fernie is a 22 month barrel aged WW that is finished on vanilla and coffee. It holds the classic WW flavors of toffee and candied fruits while adding on an unexpected pop of coffee. The added flavor serves a purpose and is not just a gimmick. Almost two years in Bourbon barrels smooths out the whole profile. Fernie opens up the possibilities of what can be done with this style.

Contemplating this 500ML bottle after watching Bullet Train. Not the best movie I’ve seen, but in the right attitude, perfectly amusing. Bottle split with the wife.

Looks like murky flood water, dark brown & opaque. The nose is dominated by vanilla & bourbon, both dirt-soaked.

Fernie tastes like it looks: murky. Dusky bourbon mingles with dank caramel up front & the overall effect is mud-like on the palate. Earthy roast & sweetness (vanilla?) run the mid-palate while mud returns to wipe the finish. Half a bottle was sufficient.

Pretty good brew.

Well it is not a looker, opaque sludgy brown pour, no head save a tan ring. Coffee, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, nose. Taste adds fig, dark wheat, and black strap molasses. Feel is cool and warm in waves, barrel forward with coffee washing over sharply, thick. A dessert wheatwine that does well not to lose the more robust nature of the style despite all the adjuncts
