Appearance: Pours a dark, color with a large and full tan head. SRM of 23. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of vanilla, bourbon, chocolate. (3.25)
Flavor: Strong flavors of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla. Leans sweet. (3.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied, rather strong carbonation, but ultimately sweet and bourbon lingers. (3.25)
Overall: Sort of a palate wrecker with bourbon here. Too much bourbon with a bite in my opinion. There's a number of porters I'd drink before this one. Not one of my favorites from this brewery. Unfortunately for me the bourbon was too much. This was a drain pour. (Rating: 3.30)

Pours dark chocolate brown with a nice, smooth two finger head, which disappears quickly, leaving no trace. Aroma is immediately noticeable for the wood character; strong vanilla follows. Taste is wood and faintly vanilla and chocolate. Definitely a porter. There is a dry character to the beer, almost as if completed with grapes or wine. The wood profile is intense, perhaps too much. While there is no depth, there is a strong profile here. If you like porters, you'll want one.
