From a 16oz bottle. The bottle has a pink plastic waxing. A basement floor pull chilled in the fridge. Bottle enjoyed on 10/24/2025. I purchased the bottles on Black Friday 2024 at the taproom.
Black body that no light gets thru. Nice brown 2 inch head from a non aggressive pour that dissipates semi quickly. Plenty of carbonation that slowly is released from the depths.
Smells good but the aroma is not strong. Chocolate, the bourbon from barrel, smooth, sweet and thick smelling. Not really boozy,
Taste is plenty of chocolate, mild roast and Old Fitzgerald. Some molasses, hints of vanilla/oak and maybe brown sugar. A hint of red wine also. A hint of char on the finish after it warms. This beer is smooth slightly sweet. The ABV is very well hidden.
Feel is smooth slightly thick and it coats your mouth.
Nice beer, a good sipper. I drank a bottle of this when it was fresh. I think 1 year of aging improved it. I left about 1 ounce in the open bottle and drank it 12 hours later. It sat warm and aloud to breath. It tasted great and the red wine note became stronger. 4.43+/5
