really tasty belgian strong, a little bit samey and predictable, but well made to be sure, and easy drinking for its strength, a real well hidden abv on this. cool name. this is radiant and golden in the glass, high headed as is appropriate for a belgian style, crystal clear, and sparkling. the aroma on this is bananas and pears, really high tone esters, almost pushing the phenolic realm, candied peach, dried mango, green grape, potpourri, and lemon detergent too. its not messy its just warm and fully developed, some honey notes, an obvious added sugar with a real pale and simple grist, and all of that comes through in the taste too, a light herbal freshness lightening things, and only a medium body here made lighter by super peppy carbonation. the yeast is a little soapy for me, it dominates and lingers even in a beer that doesnt end up that sweet. green pear, green grape, lychee, light butter, wax, and varnish. i wish it was toned down a little, but then too i fear it might be generic. neat to have a slightly spicy and expressive belgian strong on tap, and i think its cool this is hopped up just a bit too, it transforms the yeast profile a little. not totally expert, but i like the choices made in the design and execution of this for the most part. almost presents like a tripel.
