similar base beer as their capital t tasty ipa, at least as far as the hop profile is concerned, but this is additionally dry hopped and dosed with mango and tajin, a real strange but intriguing combination of flavors in this style, which add a whole lot to this. an orange tint, quite a bit more haze, and seems to maybe kill some of the head retention. the nose though is awesome, mango is juicy and natural and bold, and pops with these hops, neat that they use some uncommon and experimental stuff in this, makes for a really interesting brew even before the mango and tajin. dont smell much of the tajin, light minerals and spice and faint smoke perhaps, some greenness to the hops, all very fresh, and a light modern yeasty note, maybe one of those juicy strains that are out now. the flavor is mango forward and the fruit is awesome with the hops. the tajin is thankfully subtle, that would be a weird lead flavor note, but its nice as an accent. salty and spicy and all on the swallow, this is sweet enough with the fruit to carry a little in the aftertaste and its complex and tasty enough that i want it to. great hop complexion at the core here, maybe a little more mango than is needed, it makes this a little dense to drink, but that flavors are delicious. clever stuff happening in here, this is cool for summer! a slightly lighter mouthfeel and higher carbonation would be my one adjustment.
