another fun flavored beer from these guys, this one inspired by pecan pie and real good, although sweet enough that i dont need a ton of it, and perhaps a little more robust than it needs to be, in that it stays on my palate awhile after im done with it, probably an extract or flavoring on the pecan side rather than real nuts, but it does approximate a pecan pie to me, some molasses in it, vanilla too, a cool mix of ingredients and a nice baked and sweet counterpoint to the dark roasted grain profile this is built on. aroma of praline, toffee, fresh brewed coffee, and light maple to me, faint smoke and raisin too, some apparent bitterness, simple in some ways for an adjunct thing, not overdone on the vanilla, pecan driven somehow. the flavor is similar, vanilla as an accent to the nuts, molasses lingering late but with some bitterness of its own along with the sugar, a cool addition to this and fermented down the right amount i think, even though the whole thing could stand to be a little drier, at least for drinkability. its smooth and full feeling, could be some oats in this, i like the softness and the extended flavor, and even though a little goes a long way, i think its a success. imperial vibes but its low alcohol which is neat, we need more stouts in this range. overall i liked this and i was impressed with enlightened overall, great hang!
