Exceptionally well balanced sour ale. The grape and Pinot noir really make for a truly exceptional flavor. It didn't look like much in the glass and had little to no head but more than made up for it and it's complex sour flavor. Highly recommended for any fan of sour ales. Tasted great along with my wagyu hamburger

really cool and mature beer here, a strong sour red done with barbera grapes, and then aged in red wine and port wine barrels for upwards of two years! one of the more complex and special beers we had in here, and my only real criticism of it is that its a bit more sour than it needs to be, its acidic and sharp on the teeth and in the belly, and really is a lot to get through, even one glass, because of it. less astringent sourness would make this better, because combined with all the alcohol, it really makes it a sipper. the flavors are amazing through, rich roasty and toasted red malts with nuances of toffee, dried berries, and baking cocoa, deep crimson colored, fuller bodied, and just sweet enough. the grapes are awesome, very vinous in here more than just fruity, like a rich italian red, some tannins from skins and oak, vanilla from the oak too, and notes of black cherry, blackberry, red raspberry, and currant. its neat that the port wine comes through as much as it does, green walnut. fresh milled lumber, and berry jam there, well mellowed by all the wood. really layered and dynamic beer, very winey, and very good. one of my favorites from these guys so far, and could only be improved by scaling back the sourness just a bit...
