i want a radler to be light, a summer pounder, and while this hits that on the low alcohol front, its definitely a little heavier, on the edge of being over flavored, and misses a little for me, much as it tastes pretty good, the drinkability just isnt there. it looks like a glass of orange juice, pulpy and thick, a little more dull than that, and without much head at all even though the carbonation is fine, not light and refreshing at all in appearance. the nose is highly acidic, lots of tangerine, some lemon too, juicy and real to me, but also not really part of the ferment it doesnt seem, instead maybe blended into a light lager type after the fact, but the dosage is way high, and the beer is lost entirely to the fruit. this drinks heavy like fruit juice too, sits on the tongue and the teeth, and there is even a little pithy bitterness to it, which i guess contrasts its sweetness, but all of it together is a lot, and it really limits how much of this i want to drink, and that summer crusher ease is absent entirely. more of a beermosa than a radler for my money, and i do not at all dislike the taste, but its too heavy and fruited. i need a little more from the beer in this, more life, less body, more quenching finish. these guys do some things so well, and even hit on the gimmicky stuff more often than not, they should have done better with this...

2023; on-tap in Boise, orange-colored liquid, hazy with a creamy head. Lots of bright citrus jumps out first, tartness as well...orange and lemon and grapefruit...sweet tangerine and sour lemon warheads, sugar crystals and Tang.
