Draft at Barbarian GC. Cloudy amber, silky off-white head. Light yeasty, floral aroma, grassy. Taste is caramel, yeasty, faint hibiscus. Tingly palate.

hibiscus saison, a little too clean, and maybe even too subtle on the hibiscus, usually it goes the other way, i found this almost under flavored for being not that delicate, not bad at all, but i expected a little more here and frankly i know they are capable of it. pink hued, clearish and shiny, short white head from the tap at the source, a fine looking pour. to me this smells a little unexciting, floral sure but in a generic way, i can force provence rose on it, but its not really there, and the grain is light enough to not be influential. seems too clean on the yeast side too, a belgian saison or french type run cooler and restrained, fine but not fun in any way, no funk, no oak, no wild, nothing like that at all. the flavor follows, although i get more from the hibiscus, lemon notes, clover, even key lime and white wine but all of it is subtle. faint thyme or something herbal, lightly phenolic but mellow still, nothing hardly at all from the malt which i find odd, and fast finishing but not refreshing either, its just strange in that some of it seems to be kind of missing, definitely a different kind of take on saison, i wanted a little more intrigue and nuance here, not a bad beer, well drinkable, especially at this abv, but maybe a little bland if i am being critical...
