tasty rice lager with new zealand hops, well refined and not overdone on the hops, light bodied but big in flavor without sacrificing drinkability, these guys have been excellent in the lager space recently, and the diversity has been right there with the quality! perfect for this hot summer we are having here. pretty golden color with radiance and a lasting inch of white head, dancing carbonation, and high clarity, ready to dive in! the nose here is fruity from the hops, motueka, a key lime note, some white tea and florals, and a springy white wine thing minus the tang, fresh as can be and without a lot of bitterness. the grain is simple and light, pale and dry, the rice lightens it but doesnt seem to add a lot. the flavor is similarly minimal on the grain side, almost just a yellow beer type base, but i dont wish for more and i like the rice keeping it so clean and simple. the hops can be delicate and still appreciated that way, more floral than fruity in the flavor but still with a zested citrus note and a little tangerine essential oily thing to me, maybe some tea bitterness late but pretty mild, good minerality and water chemistry overall, and epic carbonation so this really drinks refreshing and easy. nice summer lager, sometimes less can be more, something these guys would do well to remind themselves of once in awhile. great to see all these tidy and professional lagers here of late!

Taster at Barbarian. Golden pour, wispy head. Light fruity aroma, tropical notes. Taste is malty, fruity, grassy. Nice summer beer, sitting on the beach.
