While in Brittany France (Saint Malo), this beer was offered at one of the most funky pub-like places (dolls everywhere!) Since it was on the standing menu, I didn't expect to add this beer to BA.
This beer poured a rich maroon color with a slight cloudiness. The head was slight, but it left a regular ring of lace after each sip.
Great fresh strawberry aromas...the taste is more of the same although I'd say the flavor is closer to Strawberry jam. There is no sourness that I've come to expect with a lambic. No hop flavors and very little malt.
This is a classic dessert beer, perhaps the best I've ever had. It would go with a dark double-chocolate cake perfectly.
