Tap hit at La Sylene bistro in Toulouse, France.
The beer is purple in color with amber reflections and a slight opacity. A generous and creamy foam, slightly pink, offers a fine hold.
Fruity nose with jammed cherry accents and slight hints of cherry and spice.
Taste is a balance between the tangy flavors of cherry, notes of spice, and a bit of lingering bitterness. I think syrup is involved. There’s also some tinniness present.
Mouth is full, medium carbonation.
Overall, Heinekin wants its share of the craft beer market by targeting millenials with ‘discerning taste’. They developed a cartoonish marketing ploy. The result is an OK fruited sud.
