I liked it quite a bit. Tastes a bit like a Czech pale lager with a hint of maryjane. Looks rich golden, smells kinda like it tastes. Very pleasant noble hop and that elegant hint of MJ funk are fantastic.

as a classic pils type, this obviously misses the mark a little bit, its maltier and heavier, maybe some rye in here, its definitely got a lot more going on than just a standard pils malt, and not a german lager yeast taste to me either, but i like the beer a lot, and could drink this all afternoon. the name suits it, heartier, harvesty, even healthful feeling as i sip on it, big sips though, this still drinks easy even with the body, just dont come in expecting a classic pils and you will love it. one of the more flavorful and layered light beers like this in the north country for my money. not much hops here, but i think thats okay in something like this, it lets the nuance of the malts really unfold patiently and completely, which really is the great success of this recipe. bready and german, pale but bold, buscuity and baked without being sweet at any point, dusty european character, lots of minerality. high carbonation is needed, off dry finish comes quick, and as i sit outside at one of the picnic tables of this rural farmy brewery, i feel connected to this beer in a unique way, something about it seems very terroir, organic, old school. ill be back for more of this one...
edit: this seems a little more tidy several summers later, still with some euro flare on the malt side, dry and rustic too, lots of personality in this, dad loved it which says a lot usually, and i think these guys have evolved overall in a really cool way, neat to see them doing as well as they appear to be doing, love this spot and the beer has gotten rad!
