this was a really nice brew, a little maltier than most, some would call it balance, but i dont think it takes anything away from the hops, which i really appreciate and is a common problem in bigger ipa these days. short white head on it, looks pretty in the tulip they serve it in at the brewery. good aroma, balanced again, nutty but not sweet from the grain, less sugar than it looks like it would have, just a toasty cereal property that supports the piney hops really nicely. the flavor matches the aroma exactly, pine hops over a sturdy but mellow enough base, no yeast presence at all, lots of bitterness, no trace of alcohol even at temperature. sometimes the big ones dont seem as well calculated and calibrated to me, the kitchen sink model has never been appealing. this isnt that at all, really pretty careful and thoughtful take on the style, and it packs a real punch, felt not tasted. this place is awesome, and i really liked most of the beers, i really wish them all the luck in the world. better than other strong ipa i have had in the region...

This is by far the most tame DIPA I have tried thus far. The hoppiness isn't too overpowering and the same goes for the bitterness. It ends on a floral note which is quite enjoyable. This is a must try in my opinion.
