dusty chocolate character, cherry skin, mellow vinegar and spice, oak, hints of caramel. a really complex beer but everything is so well integrated and it comes off as a delicate and smooth offering, wow!

killer beer here, an all wild (i think) sour brown ale aged a couple of years in oak. this is really good, one of their most ambitious and best beers to date, which is really saying something, as the par for quality here is already very high. the beer is pretty clear for what it is, a deep crimson to mahogany color with a short tan head. big notes of red and port wine, dried cherry and cola, root vegetables and baking chocolate, raisin and caramel, not overly sweet, especially for its strength, but quite sour, lactic leaning, but also with some mature funk to it, oud bruin-esque in that way, mild wine vinegar and tannins to it, nothing too sharp, and it doesnt get any more intense as it warms which i appreciate. its cool that the body is as light as it is, and the booze well hidden, a little light on carbonation, but i dont need it, more like a cognac type drink, slows me down and i can appreciate it more. subtle fig and peat and toffee, very mature, overall just incredible, especially for their first take on something like this. keep an eye on these guys, they wont be under the radar for long with beers like this!
