Pours dark brown with not much head. A healthy amount of coffee in the smell, just the way I like it. Feels about as thin as I would expect for a beer that's less than 7 bucks for a 4 pack. The balance in the taste surprised me; I'm a huge fan of coffee beers and I'm not very familiar with the English dark mild style, but the coffee and the style seem to be perfectly balanced, though it's slightly more bitter than what I prefer. Never had anything like it before, and I liked it enough to buy another 4 pack.

12oz bottle served in a snifter glass.

Pours a dark brown body; noticeably darker than its counterpart, Madagascar. One finger offwhite head, good retention, nice lacing. Overall a bit darker but a more attractive head than Madagascar. Smells of cold pressed coffee, roasty coffee bean, a bit of caramel and toffee. Its absolutely coffee dominated. That's not a bad thing. Flavour is coffee dominated, roasty, a bit nutty, fair amount of toffee, just a minimal amount of sweetness to balance the coffee. It's a good balance, but can get a little old after a while. Mouthfeel is thinner bodied, perhaps a bit diluted by the cold press coffee, good carbonation, plenty of coffee on the finish. I'd say its not bad, very drinkable with good coffee character. Not very complex, but I don't think it's meant to be.

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter. A coffee brown color with a 1.5 finger tan head. Fades into a collar and leaves spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is lighter coffee and roasted malt along with hints of toffee and bread. Flavor is some coffee with some nutty, toffee, and bread. Almost a bit of spice on the finish? Feel is lighter as expected for this style with a softer carbonation. The coffee notes went will with this style.
