Octopi Brewing

12oz can, snifter glass. Cloudy golden yellow body, one finger white head, great retention, frothy, scattered lacing. Smell is grapefruit and a bit of overripe tropical fruit. Sugary sweetness, touch of caramel. It's fairly simple, heavy on the sugar and mineral. This is similar on the finish, more sugar and mineral than hop aromatics, but the hop aromatics are reasonably solid, with a good grapefruit and citrus flavour throughout, but the mineral stands out more than anything else. It's fine, a medium-lighter bodied IPA with a decent hop presence, but I would like a little less of the sugariness and a bit more of the resinous character.
