This is an ode to the early riser; the die-hard skier that arrives at the mountain early enough to make FIRST TURNS in fresh powder. We use locally grown hops to give this beer its rich aroma and fresh distinctive flavor.

12oz canned with an in-decipherable canning date, poured into my Sam Adams Perfect Pint.

A: Clear pale straw with a soapy white head that retains and laces ok.

S & T: Piney, grassy, lemony, grapefruit peel hops with prominent but not overwhelming bitterness and a nice sweet biscuit/grain malt backbone.

MF: Smooth, almost creamy lighter body.

O: Good, for a local. Yes, I prefaced that. But I would drink it again for a traditional IPA. It’s probably more drinkable than Dagger Falls which would be my go-to local.

Bottle from Grocery Outlet. Gusher. Not a good sign. Hazy amber body, huge foamy head. Aroma is malty and bready, strange for an IPA, taste brings in the hops like a smack in the face, sharp and metallic. Not balanced at all. Finishes fast with a lingering metallic taste. First turn was a wrong turn....

a well refined and tasty local ipa, definitely ahead of the curve here, and i think the beer here keeps getting better and better. this is pretty clear, glowing light orange in the glass, and has an inch of lasting white foam on top, pretty in the glass, radiant even, with some bubbles rising up. aroma and flavor mirror one another, a freshness through the whole thing from the hops, a pretty basic almost elemental grain base, but maybe just a pinch of crystal for depth, even though this is nice and dry. i like the citrus forward hops but also the bit of bitterness it has, makes this more versatile and four season, and there is a neat almost candied orange wrinkle just past the center of it, a late climax from the hops thats quite distinctive, all fresh as can be and pretty clean on the swallow. medium bodied, more bitter as it warms, great carbonation. definitely not the most ambitious or dramatic beer ive had from these guys, but a solid ipa that i would rank locally. id love to know what the hops are, this is probably their best hoppy offering to date. i wish this was around town a little more, its better than the flavors i see at the bars...

4th time having this beer was at the brewery on Sunday... Also had it at Boise Brewing, BitterCreek and B:30... Pours mostly clear amber with an okay white head, dark for an IPA... Nose is husky pale malt, nothing in the way of hop aroma jumps out of the glass.... Big bitternss on the palate but again not much hop flavor... husky/astringent tannic black tea essence... Oversparged? Light body is fine... I REALLY want to like this brewery, but this beer needs a complete reworking... Not sure that I have had something so far off base in the last year.
