strong and sweet and intense, but a fine expansion on the original, and a beer that was fun to find on tap there this week, i thought it was a bottle only situation, so cool to be able to roll in and have their heady stuff at the source, which i feel like is always the case with these guys, they make their best work accessible, and i love that. this one is everything you want ina big red ale, sweet earthy autumnal malts with honey and maple layers, and enough booze to cut through the sugar and make this dangerous. layers of dark fruit, port wine, and even a little fusel alcohol comprise the bulk of this. port wine, raisin, rum, vanilla, good toffee, and a trace of unlit cigar, rather dynamic, curiously enough there is even a light english note to the yeast on this, maybe not, but its not all the way invisible either, its somewhere in between, and im glad its present, even if unintentional. this is light for its obvious bigness, if that makes sense, and there is a heart alcoholic element that makes it wintery and woodsy and manly. this is beer for bearded, flannel wearing, black lab off leash having, craft enthusiast modern patagonia outdoorsy instagram dudes and their ladies, but its working for me too. whatever that says about me as a person, i will remain ignorant to as long as this beer is in my glass...

Pours a nice reddish brown with moderate head that dissipates rapidly. Lacing is evident. Aroma of bread, roasted malt and some piney hops. Flavor is mild and mostly sweet and malty with some hop bitterness. Not particularly well balanced. Mouthfeel is thin for a SA.
Overall, not a bad beer, but I don't think it's a good representation for the style of beer that it portends to be.

Bottlle from Albertsons. Trying to give this new brewery some props, as they've been a letdown to date. Decent looking pour, and then it just becomes a malt bomb. Minor hop bitterness at the end. Just plain average.

Draft tonight at the brewery... Pours slightly hazy.. Big bitterness, but not much in the way of hop flavor given the ABV... Very abrasive and tannic... A little bit of piney hoppiness as it warms... Only okay. Body doesn't strike me as +10%... A little thin.
