Draft at Tilted Kilt. Pretty mild, pretty bland. Golden body, with very minimal head. Faint malty aroma leads into weak grainy flavor, no hops to speak of,. unmemorable.

Picked this beer up when I was out west on one of my trips, and drank the rest before taking a while to finally review this. Never had a beer from Powderhaus before and while this certainly wouldn't win any awards in my book, it was perfect to relax with on this unseasonably warm night!
The pour to this was golden, nearly clear, and full of bubbles both in the liquid and in the head. The latter settled quickly as there was practically no lacing left behind once I started to work my way through this. Lots of cream and root beer in the nose along with some grass as the taste also contained some light lemon zest and citrus. Some potato chip bite gave this beer body while it felt quite light on the palate, because of all of the bubbles. Some scallion spice lingered in the aftertaste once this went down as this wasn't as sweet and creamy as I had hoped for...
The amount of alcohol listed on the bottle was 4.5% even though it was listed on here as a bit more. I couldn't feel it any way as this was a textbook session beer. What I would categorize it under would be a different story, as it didn't remind me of the other American Cream Ales that I've reviewed over the years. Worth a go once as something to kick back with!

an easy drinker right from the can, only loosely a cream ale as far as style is concerned, i thought it was really hoppy for a cream, but the flavor is crisp and fresh, and this is a refreshing pounder overall, one of the better hoppy beers i have had from these guys so far, and a pretty aggressive and robust flavor profile for a cream ale. its got a citrus forward nose, some green hoppy bitterness, and a simple pils type grain base, a bit of european character to it, dry and crackery, and very light in body. the hops dominate the back half of the flavor, bitter grapefruit and orange peel, nice on top of the clean base, but its pushing session ipa territory in terms of intensity, not a bad thing, but this isnt an every man session beer, definitely for the craft drinker looking for a slammer. not particularly complex, but the fundamentals are right, including high carbonation and a real crisp finish. best when ice cold, it comes apart a little as it warms, but they did a good job with this. powderhaus doesnt seem to have the best reputation around town here, but i have liked their beers so far...
