Taster at brewery. Clear golden with almost no head. Aroma is mostly peppers, but not too bold. Taste too features the flavors of the peppers rather than the heat. A little bit of a sting but not too bad. Nice grainy flavors too

About 8oz served on tap in a tulip glass.
A: Very light pale straw with minimal lace.
S: Light, spicy pepper and underlying bready malt, mild sweetness.
T: Impressive, fully peppery palate; hot peppers, pepper skins, ghost-like smoke character...very savory, almost food-like, if that makes sense. Its moderately-to-fully spicy, but I like spicy food and was able to drink it all, not problem. There are faint notes of biscuity pale malt that poke through the peppery spice here and there.
MF: Hard to say more than a.) its spicy, so my mouth is burning a little as a I drink it, and b.) its not watery, but it has a very light body that washes away and leaves the aftertaste of spice.
O: I am super impressed with this - one of the best pepper/spiced brews I've ever tried. Yes they are a novelty but this one has great flavors (if you like spicy food) and it isn't overwhelmingly spicy, though it definitely is hot.

a chili pepper version of their session beer, and honestly one of the better pepper beers i have had of late. this is usually a style i avoid, but they were so proud of it here i had to give it a try. it smells and tastes like fresh green jalapenos to me, but i am not sure exactly what the peppers are in it. the beauty of this one, and any good example of the style really, is that the beer has the flavor of the pepper without being too hot to drink a pint of, and i think this one hits the heat mark perfectly, its fresh and vegetal and with a distinct capsicum element, but there is almost no heat at all, and some of it might even be more imagined than real, with how true and natural the pepper character is, its like i keep expecting it to finish hot on each sip but it never really does. a little back of tongue and throat warmth is all, but its short lived enough to be new again each drink i take, and i really like that. there is a little hoppiness to this too in the end which i think is uniquely compatible with the peppers, and not an ingredient usually showcased much in beers like this, making it rather original overall. im never going to be the guy who makes a day of drinking this sort of thing, but i enjoyed this more than as a novelty beer too, and thats about as good as it gets for me in the style. real well assembled here!
