Crowler from brewery. Hazy straw color, one finger head. Grainy, bready aroma. Taste continues with more straight up wheat flavors. Mildly sweet. Not a weizen as style indicates, just a wheat ale.

a tasty wheat beer here, simple, and maybe not exactly what we have all come to expect from a hefe, this doesnt really have the yeast profile i look for in that style, the esters, the clove and banana notes, white pepper, green apple and pear, that sort of thing, its just not present in this. that said, its still a solid beer, an easy drinker, fresh as can be at the brewery, and you can really taste the wheat, which i enjoy here. golden in color, a little deeper toned than most hefeweizens out there, a pretty white head that slowly fades, and lots of bubbles. the beer is quite simple to me in nose and taste, pale wheat malt, a light mineral profile, perhaps a subtle german tinge to the fermentation profile but extremely subtle by any hefe standard, clean and dry, medium bodied, just a beer, really driven more by the wheat than the yeast, almost more of an american wheat beer then, but good proportions, well refined, and super drinkable at this nice low abv, a fine warm weather drink. i like how every time i go to powderhaus they have a couple of new ones in the mix. dont expect the classic hefe here, but this is worthwhile beer still.
