on tap at the amazing yardarm here in boise, the dude told me it was rhubarb and raspberry he thought, but i dont believe such a version exists. after some online research, i also have some suspicion that the raspberry lime edition listed here may actually be this raspberry lemon one, but who knows what theyve done with this over the various batches. i do think i taste some rhubarb in this almost lifeless looking slightly hazy pinkish brew, almost looks more like a fruited cider than a beer in the glass, but the flavors are excellent. its got a very clean lactic sourness, they have that part dialed here, and the citrus of the lemon works great with the acidity here, there might even be some citrus peel sort of bitterness keeping any berry sweetness in check. i do think i taste a little rhubarb, but could be my mind looking for it since i thought that was part of this, maybe a hint of cranberry too along with the obvious ripe and tangy raspberries, quite natural and without a ton of sugar. there is more carbonation than it looks like, which is awesome, and i found this refreshing and not too sour to drink when it was nice and cold from the tap, it didnt warm too too bad either. i like the real fruit flavors, the sharp but clean pucker this has, and seeming wide potential of the base beer for different fruits and combinations, coconut comes to mind, so does a dry hopping, seems well made and versatile. a good warm weather sour from these guys, who now apparently do everything pretty well. if anyone knows anything about a rhubarb edition, let me know!
