750ml bottle at share. Light ruby colored pour with a small, airy head. Aroma and taste are straight up raspberry, with the requisite, sour yeasty funk thast goes with the style. A pretty good outing from this brewery, on a very special style. Well done.

Soft pink appearance, decent raspberry character all around, fruity and somewhat tart, the funk is there but a bit subdued, faint oaky barrel character as well, for a local Framboise though this is pretty solid.

definitely unfair to drink this side by side with one from drie fonteinen, i mean come on, but even with that this is quite impressive for these guys, and it immediately presents as more than just a fruited kettle sour. its almost still from the tap, electric reddish pink, shiny and clear. the nose is woody right away, some brett too, definitely some funk with all this fruit, intense berry character, cherry and red currant pucker too, seems authentic enough to me, except for maybe its pungency, vinous with the wood, almost even smells like its been aged in wine barrels, slightly floral and citric as well, highly appealing, mouthwatering, even if it doesnt smell like lambic, definitely a neat culture on this. the flavor is great here too, not just fruit and acid, although its got a good amount of both, super robust slightly sweet or even candied raspberry flavor. yeah its not an authentic lambic base, but it comes together well, the ageing pays off, its woody and the brett is well developed, nice against the tang this has. no real grain character to it, nothing even all that exotic about the actual ferment, but this just works. one of the best powderhaus beers to date for my money, but their barrel aged work has always been solid. needs more carbonation, my only real critique, but they did a real nice job with this overall.

edit: this is ageing pretty well, perhaps increasingly acidic, but still properly complex and funky too, just a slight cereal dust thing at the end that from the bottle that i did not recall in the original draft, but it comes on way late and is only short lived. impressive raspberry profile here too, no doubting the use of real fruit, they really nailed this, i wish they did more like it!
