It doesn't have to make sense; it just has to sound like it does. Brewed with Heritage Bicycles General Store’s cold press coffee, maple syrup, & smoked malt. This is why you get out of bed in the morning.

Pours a dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. Decent retention and good lacing. Smells of strong roasted malt, sweet malt, hops, alcohol, and slight coffee. Fits the style of a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a bitterness from the coffee. Tastes of strong coffee, strong sweet malt, caramel malt, hint of hop, hint of yeast, and slight alcohol. Overall, decent appearance and aroma, but good body and blend.

This probably won't be to everyone's taste, but I surprisingly really liked it. Would be improved with a heavier body and maybe a little more sweetness, but as someone who doesn't love super coffee forward beers, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the coffee in this one.
The beer is relatively dark, although it was a pretty thin body, so it's not incredibly impressive to look at. However, the combination of coffee, smoked malt and maple syrup really come together to make a tasty but balanced beer. Definitely coffee forward, but the syrup takes the edge off the beer, so instead of bitterness, you get a great chocolatey quality, with a slightly smokey finish.
I could not stop smelling this beer (it smells like everything you'd expect it to), and I pretty easily drank the whole 32 oz. crowler I grabbed last night; it's one of those beers that's more than the sum of its parts. Good start to my experience with Corridor!
