Pint enjoyed on draft September 3, rating from a crowler September 4 without other sensory distractions. Cloudy pale golden color with a full finger of head and subsequent lacing--looks like unfiltered, canned pineapple juice. Smells like pineapple blended with grapefruit, orange pith, mango, and lemongrass. The vanilla is fairly subdued, mostly coming forward on the palate to smooth out some of the bitterness from the Mosaic hops. Full bodied and exceptionally flavorful for 6.8% abv.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 32 oz crowler on September 2, 2017. Has the look and feel of a well made North East style IPA. However, the vanilla makes it too sweet for my palate.

The look is a murky orangish beer that reminds me of a New England Style IPA. Small amount of white foam on top.
Smells great with orange, citrus and a hint of vanilla.
Taste has flavors that blend very well together. Besides citrus, I get a pineapple and vanilla aftertaste that is very tropical. Also, the bitterness is well balanced with sweetness from the lactose. The best part of the overall taste is that the vanilla is done so well. Just enough that you can taste it but not so much that it is cloying. You never get tired of drinking this beer. The vanilla also tastes natural and not forced with an added extract.
Feel is smooth for an IPA. It drinks real easy. The carbonation is a little understated which works well for this beer.
Overall an excellent brew which gets high marks for originality. A truly well crafted beer that appears to effortlessly combine flavors and texture resulting in a great drinking IPA.
