473 mL can from the LCBO; no packaging date. Served slightly chilled.
Pours cloudy golden-orange, giving rise to one finger of loose, foamy white head that fizzles off within ninety seconds or so. A tight collar is the only survivor, save for a few wisps of film on the surface; minimal lace generation. It smells of armpit/lactic funk, strawberry Kool-Aid and kiwifruit, with suggestions of pineapple and melon. The aroma feels very artificial, as if little-to-no actual fruit was used - though the marketing blurb on their website lists both strawberry and kiwi purees.
This brew rubbed me the wrong way at first, but after a half-dozen sips I found it became more tolerable. Sweet at the forefront, with strawberry flavouring giving way to notes of lactic/armpit funk and tart flavours of kiwifruit and lemon. Moderate acidity near the tail end of the sip; finishes with sweet strawberry-kiwi flavours before trending dry-ish. Medium-light in body, with assertive carbonation that adds a firm bite to this brew's smooth, somewhat juicy mouthfeel. Fair drinkability, but by the end of the glass I was more than ready to move on.
Final Grade: 3.45, an adequate B-. Amplitude Strawberry Kiwi's only real novelty comes from the fact that strawberry and/or kiwi sours are not especially common here in Ontario... unfortunately, this sour doesn't do either fruit justice if you ask me. There's an authenticity issue here: even if they did use some amount of real fruit, the final product tastes as if it were heavily 'enhanced' with flavouring. I don't want any more, but I wouldn't discourage strawberry-loving beer geeks from giving it a try.

Nope. This one's a miss. Too chemical in character on both the nose and the palate. Has some actively unpleasant things going on without doing any justice to strawberries or kiwi. Gently sour bite with a drying bitter finish. Moderate head that settles to a very thin ring, no lace. Hazy. Colour of dull pink grapefruit juice. Just nothing exciting about this at all and I don't think I'd be inclined to try a second one. Other Amplitude fruit sours come off better than this.
