Was a pretty big fan of Second Chance coming in (although not as good as I thought apparently with an average of 3.90 for me for 10 reviews). On the other hand, was not a fan of Maui, giving its beers a 3.46 average for four beers. Had to get it for Second Chance though as the can read, “Maui Brewing and Second Chance Beer share a love of Mother Earth, as well as challenging traditional brewing expectations. Poured a golden clear color with two fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom and the sides of the glass, looking like a snow globe. Very good spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled floral, citrus zest, cloves, pilsner malt, lemon, corn cereal, wheat, grass honey and Noble hops. Better from the can with pilsner malt coming through along with lemon and grass. (Smell - 4.00)
First thing on the taste was how boozy it was. Also floral, cloves, pilsner malt, lemon, citrus zest, grass, honey, grain, Noble hops and lingering peppery spice. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Bitter, floraly finish. (Finish - 3.50)
This was good, but not something I would want to have again. (Overall - 3.50)
