This Hazy IPA doesn’t disappoint with its citrus, pineapple punch, and smooth finish. Though this IPA has the soft mouthfeel of a hazy, it finishes like a classic West Coast with a subtle drying bitterness.
Featured Hops: HBC 692, Mosaic, Ekuanot.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
Price: $3.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 31, 2021
Consumed: Nov. 10, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date; Best by Jan. 12, 2022
Went over to Windmill Farms to pick up a 4-pack and came back with a bunch of other stuff as well. Second Chance usually underwhelms me with its hoppy stuff but I won’t quit trying it. Untappd description was “This Hazy IPA doesn’t disappoint with its citrus, pineapple punch, and smooth finish. Featured Hops: HBC 692, Mosaic, Ekuanot.” HBC 692 appears to be Talus, which is a hop that I’ve really come to like. I remember pink grapefruit being the big note from Talus. It’s been a bit so I looked up the description and it also called for citrus rinds, dried roses, pine resin, tropical fruits and sage.
⠀
Poured a light golden hazy color with three fingers of frothy white head. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect layered spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Talus, pink lemonade, Mosaic, pine, resin, pineapple, grapefruit rind, mango, floral, rose blossom, grass, green vegetable and Ekuanot. The smell just kept getting better from the beginning of the glass to the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste followed the nose. In order got Talus, pink lemonade, grapefruit, Mosaic, floral, rose blossom, bitter pine, spicy resin, leafy vegetable, grass, Ekuanot, mango, orange citrus and lingering peppery spice. Tastes boozier than 6.66 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Wow. Much better than I thought it would be going in. My love for Talus probably contributed to that. Outstanding though. (Overall - 4.00)
