Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival a finger of off white to khaki head was present that receded over a few minutes to a vague covering and ring around the rim. Body isn't quite black, but is rather a dark brownish crimson. Slight lacing forms but not around the whole glass.
Aroma is immediately interesting. Not just a roasty malt, but the roast is also accompanied by a dark to dried stone fruit. This is definitely a sweet beer, but not more so than a dark chocolate bar with fruit.
Flavor comes with a slight hoppy earthiness and bitterness, but that is largely covered by a roasty malt as well as some caramel and toffee sweetness.
Feel is pretty medium. Nit full not light. Slight dryness counters the the malty fullness. Medium finish, and the roast is what tends to linger.
Overall this is a good beer, that isn't quite a porter, a stout, or really any of the dark beer styles. It's roasty, but there is a lightness as well. The closest description I can think of is a craft Guinness Draught.

L:. Pours a dark black with hints of purple where the light hits it.
S:. Sweet caramel and sweet malt, a note of diacetyl, a little one note and light.
T:. Notes of caramel and butterscotch, a sweet malt, rather one note.
F:. Lighter body smooth carbonation.
O:. This beer is ok, but nothing special.
