Draft at brewery. Clear golden, realtively flat. Sweet honey in the aroma, along with a hint of grassy hops. Taste stays wthe honey, but not too sweet, with the kolsch notes and hops providing a nice grassy vibe with some lemony hints. Interestiing.

unique fusion of styles here, not sure how kolsch-like it really is, definitely hits like honey beer first, but its floral and expressive and perhaps its kolsch yeast and fermentation temperatures or something as the link, tasty and distinctive, if a touch less refined than their best beers, unique enough to be awesome and this is the kind of thing i come here for, so i was quite pleased, i like how light it is too. blonde to golden in the glass, pretty good clarity, and a short white head on top, simple but lively and fairly tidy looking. the aroma is floral from the honey, maybe a wildflower honey was used for this, i get blooming meadows and some pollen character, something i could almost be allergic to, even though its not over the top, and its cool how much of this honey aroma is retained, even though this doesnt smell sweet. light white wine character, a little yeast thing, almost lager crispness but a light ester to it too, herbal but maybe not from hops. the flavor is honey forward but with a little pils type crackery thing from the pale grain too, light herbal bitterness through the back half, a little german dusty thing too. slight white wine to this, but not tangy per se, fruity though, and strange, old worldy, medicinal a little bit, a touch thin feeling, but layered and different. id love to know more about how this one was made, but there is always something fun on tap in here, and this is one id be happy to drink again. cool use of the honey in a strange style mashup. nice.
