Chestnut colour with a slight haze. White foam, finely chopped, high and persistent. Clings intensely to the glass, almost perfectly circulating.
Aroma: lots of caramel, light fruity and slightly resinous notes.
Taste: almost perfect balance of malty sweetness and hop bitterness with a slight shift towards dryness in the finish.
Medium saturation upwards. Texture almost smooth. Body seems full downwards. Aftertaste short malty and dry hoppy.

 

 

look: two finger white head, frothy, big bubbles in there, good retention and good bit of lacing, need is totally mahogany in colour, pretty hazy.

smell: not a big smack of hops on the nose but still hoppy, citrus fruits, some vanilla, some gooseberry

taste: really quite malty at first, toasted smoky flavours, sweet fruity flavours then, some mango and citrus fruits, little caramel too, nice bit of hop bitterness on the finish, solid

feel: medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, dry, a real crisp refreshing finish, some warming of the throat at the end too.

overall: best beer i’ve had from killarney, good ipa, most refreshing.

Pours a dark gold almost amber in color with a decent sized bubbly white head. Bready toasty maltiness with bits of citrus and resin to counter.

 

Had from a well-chilled bottle after chopping logs on a hot day, Strong flavour, Malt and caramel, a little citrus, quite dry, very refreshing, this is a good ale.
