On tap at Crooked Hammock, Lewes, DE.
Pours a clear honey golden color with a visible gently spritzy carbonation. There is a thin layer of head that quickly dissipates.
The nose opens up bready and biscuity, with sweet notes of honey and caramel malt. Fruity esters evoke notes of melon, peach and apricot.
The taste has a nice dryness to it that is complimented by a muted sweetness. Flavors of candi sugar, honey, caramel malts, melon and peach. A developing peppery and light alcohol spice displays mild warmth. The finish is dry with a touch of spice.
Medium bodied yet with a nice drinkable lightness. It is fairly smooth in the mouthfeel with a relatively gentle carbonation.
A well done Tripel overall that is easy to drink. So far, I have liked the Belgian style offerings from this brewery.
