On draught at Crooked Hammock, Lewes, DE.
Pours a hazy golden orange color. There was little to no head.
Aromas of strawberry and lemon merengue pie. The nose exudes fruity tartness along with notes of graham cracker.
It drinks like a sweet lemonade with a mild tartness. Flavors of strawberry, graham cracker, sourdough, lime and mint. The finish is dry with a light mouth puckering tartness.
Medium bodied to quite full considering it’s a sour. However, the mouthfeel seems to lose a bit of life as the tartness doesn’t quite hold up. The carbonation is moderate but also loses some of its effervescence.
I appreciate the concept of an Imperial Sour, however, after a promising nose and beginning, it faded for me. I feel like a little more acidity and dryness would have made this better.
