Their base saison aged in a barrel with pineapples. A neat enough idea.
The pour is pretty: hazy yellow, white head. Nice and summertime-looking.
Smells a little one-note: huge pineapply fruitiness, light saison spice. Not bad, but not particularly complex, and the combination of the barrel aging and fruit are a little dull.
Tastes fruity up front, nicely fizzy and malty in the middle, and then at the end where I'm expecting saison spice there resides instead some odd medicinal nodes. These aren't uncommon in brewpub saisons (which are super hard to brew), but you'd expect the base beer to be a bit more solid for a beer that underwent intense and expensive aging. But whatever. Gotta do what's trendy.
An okay beer, if a bit pricey for the quality. I didn't feel the need to explore their taplist any further, after this one.
